Kim Sonderman

Board President

Kim Sonderman holds a Master of Science degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Georgia and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration and UNC-Chapel Hill. Kim has professional experience working as a veterinary technician in small animal, large animal, avian, and reptile medicine. She is a passionate advocate for animal health care and is dedicated to environmental and marine conservation. 

Kim currently serves as a co-founder and Executive Director of the Southeast Regional Sea Turtle Network. In 2009, Kim and her colleagues identified the need and created a formal venue in which sea turtle professionals and researchers could present their findings in a collaborative environment. Kim has organized biennial meetings to facilitate the sharing of scientific knowledge and advance the field of sea turtle conservation throughout the network’s region. She is committed to the field of sea turtle conservation and research.
