Whitney Crowder’s passion for marine conservation spans over two decades, focusing on sea turtle rehabilitation and protection. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a specialization in environmental science from the University of Central Florida.
Whitney’s first marine conservation assignment in a large aquarium led her to monitor important nesting beaches such as the Archie Carr Refuge and to become involved in sea turtle rehabilitation, and other ocean conservation efforts. She has actively participated in coral reef research, including coral nurseries and long-spined sea urchin studies. Throughout her career, Whitney has successfully managed sea turtle hospitals. In her most recent position, she directed a dedicated team at a rehabilitation facility in southeast Florida, overseeing all aspect of the center, including the daily care of sea turtle patients, and holding the facility’s marine turtle permit.
Whitney's dedication to marine biology extends beyond sea turtle research and rehabilitation, as she utilizes diverse platforms such as media, film, and television, as well as in-person events to amplify awareness regarding the critical state of the world's oceans.
